New research by community activists from Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ethiopia, and Nigeria finds that women’s health is still not a priority within programmes to prevent vertical transmission of HIV, despite all the recent declarations and summits on maternal health.

World Community Advisory Board Update The fifth WCAB meeting was held in Nairobi July 2nd-6th 2011 with the theme of “Challenges and Opportunities: Achieving 15 million on treatment by 2015”. The attendees were a mix of experts and activists, both people living with HIV and their supporters from all over the world. A key area of focus was on implementation of the WHO Guidelines on ARV including the phase out of d4T-based regimens, the barriers to scale-up of treatment access and lower prices on better treatment options.
